CANYON ROPE RESCUE
Up to two days of training of the essential rope rescue skills for canyoning.
This course is designed for people who want to the learn technical rope rescue skills for canyoning,
The first day is a cliff based session teaching critical self-rescue, load lowering, 3:1 hauling, VT prusik uses for abseiling and rescues as well as other skills.
A second optional day continues skill development in a canyon environment with improvised techniques and rescue response scenarios.
Prior knowledge of single rope technique, releasable systems and prior abseiling experience is required for this course. Please contact us to discuss your suitablbility for the course if you are unsure.
GRADE: Advanced, knowledge prerequisites
FITNESS: Moderate hiking, rope ascending (core and upper body strength)
DURATION: 1 or 2 days

3:1 hauling with a toothed pulley (progress capture device)

Trip planning, emergency gear and setup
Canyon approach, group discussion on risk management
